ALOHA!

If it was not for Hawai'i and the influence that the culture and the people had on my life, I would not be here today. I owe my life to Hawai'i and I will do what I can to see the day Hawai'i is free once again!

E ho'omaika'i i kea la'a kea me ke aloha mau loa.

Aloha ka kou, Ikaika Hussey, Noelani Goodyear-Kaopua, Terri Keekoolani, Andre Perez, Kekuni Blaisdell, Ed Gomes, Camille Kalam.

Do you want to leave the concepts of "nonviolence" or "nonkilling" in their Hawaiian roots out of the MANA Values Statement? Is there a nonviolent ku‘e? Have you noted the explicit commitment to "nonviolence" in the Charter of the Unrepresented Nations and Peoples Organization (www.unpo.org)? Also see ‘Olelo Ch. 54 on Tuesdays Nov. 18 or 21 at 7:30 PM for a report by Nancie Caraway on the problems of collective leadership, nonviolence, and transition from the Green Movement (like the MANA concept) to becoming an electoral political party (as MANA envisions). For other nonviolent/nonkilling relevant resources, check out www.globalnonviolence.org 7 books and 2 videos there under
"Publications." Also valuable LINKS hidden after "Contact Us."

These questions are respectfully raised in hope you will consider if MANA can possibly escape both the militarism and social violence of the colonial occupiers and the lethal aspects of the Hawaiian legacy. Is a future "Nonkilling Hawai‘i " possible ? (No Hawaiians killing other Hawaiians or outsiders in the world--and no outsiders killing Hawaians ). A society exemplifying Nonkilling Aloha with all its other cultural virtues to the world and influencing by its example nonkilling global transformation in the century ahead?

With respectful appreciation for your MANA initiative,
Glenn

I have read this open letter, i am trying to determine what action is exactly necessary and what is the action you intend to pursue. I would love to support this movement. I want nothing but independence from the chains of this so- called "free" country. As a Shawnee Native, i think all Indigenous captives of these tyrannical European Immigrants should unite and fight for the right to re-inhabit the land without taxes, without money, without buying or selling that which was made free for all of us to co-exist with! I am currently in WV, so I am a distance away. If there's anything, anything at all i can do, please let me know. I wish you all the best in your struggles.
